I don’t like the idea that just anyone that I don’t know can add me to their list. I don’t need nor want everyone in the world knowing when I’m online. I have right to privacy. I click on the icon that says click on this icon if you want to hide your online status. So why the hell doesn’t it do that? What the point of creating a function if it doesn’t work?
Honey. Don’t talk down to me like a child. Don’t suggest that I just I not use any IM service then. I’m entitled to wonder why it doesn’t seem it works. As an American I have that right and the freedom to do what I want. So go F yourself you pretentios b**h.

If you selected and saved that option it WILL work. People who don’t know you (Even those who do) cannot add you without your permission, if they try to add you then just deny the message. It’s this way for all IM services (With the exception of AOL who lets anyone add you and anyone see when you’re online) if you don’t like it then I suggest not using any IM service

I’m sure it’s working you just haven’t noticed it yet. just give it a minute before looking it up. It just may be that it’s you’re ID you’re looking at it and it’ll show you online for you.

I agree with you. That woman does not need to talk down to you like you’re a child just because you have a concern about your privacy.
